Library orientation for Medical Laboratory Science Faculty

April 28, 2021, Wednesday – The Library conducted a Library Orientation for the College of Medical Laboratory Science faculty. The Library introduced the online library services of the library, presented the subject librarian, and discussed the upcoming accreditation for the College. Around 20 faculty members attended the virtual event.

Director of Libraries Ma. Cynthia T. Peleña hosted the orientation. She introduced the Subject Librarian assigned for the College, Chilou Batoon, who is also the KDC and American Corner Librarian. The Subject Librarian serves as the coordinator between the library and the college.

Chilou Batoon presented eLibraryUSA and the various resources faculty can use. Donna Rivera, Senior High School Librarian and Subject Librarian for the College of Computer Studies, presented ProQuest, an online database the library subscribes to. Allana Delgado, Librarian for the Graduate School and the Bahandian Institutional Repository, introduced Bahandian and how it can be used for study and research. They presented how to access and use these online resources provided by the library.

In preparation for the upcoming accreditation of the college, the Library presented its current status and updates since the last accreditation. Faculty were encouraged to promote these library services to their students.
