HLL presents library orientation for Computer Studies

April 21, 2021, Wednesday – The Henry Luce III Library conducted a library orientation for the faculty and students of the College of Computer Studies. Around 290 students and faculty attended the virtual orientation. Director of Libraries Ma. Cynthia T. Pelena hosted the event.

The Director presented the status of the library and college in preparation for the upcoming accreditation. Guidelines and standards for the college and library were discussed. She also presented what the library has accomplished since the last accreditation.

The Director introduced the liaison librarian for the College, Donna May Rivera, RL. Donna presented ProQuest, a paid research database for Centralian students. How to use and search for resources on ProQuest was shown.

Allana Delgado, Librarian for the Graduate School and BAHANDIAN Institutional Repository, introduced BAHANDIAN and presented how students and faculty can use it for their research needs. She also presented other online resources such as CDAsiaOnline for Law and iGLibary for eBooks.

Chilou Batoon, KDC and American Corner Librarian, introduced eLibraryUSA and presented the various resources that students and faculty can use.

The last part of the library orientation was a short video with an overview of the current services the library is offering.
