April 23, 2021, Friday – The Henry Luce III Library had a farewell lunch for the six practicum students from the College of Computer Studies for their contribution to the BAHANDIAN Institutional Repository.
Since February 2021, they helped in scanning, digitizing, and uploading library research resources into BAHANDIAN. They also assisted the Library in organizing the official launching of the online platform last February 15, 2021.
Ma. Cynthia T. Peleña, Director of Libraries, thanked the on-the-job trainees for their work ethic and dedication to the project. Librarians and staff of the library also gave a short message to thank them. The practicum students also expressed their appreciation to the Library for the opportunity.
They were Bachelor Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students selected to work for the BAHANDIAN Institutional Repository with the recommendation of the College of Computer Studies Dean. Most of them previously worked as student laboratory assistants for CCS. The project was done in the American Corner, 3rd floor of the Henry Luce III Library.
For their safety, the on-the-job trainees stayed in the CPU Campus. They were tested for COVID-19 before starting. Social distancing and safety protocols were followed during their stay in the library.
The Library and the University extends their sincere thanks to them.
