Last Friday, March 19, 2021, the Henry Luce III Library in collaboration with the Masters in Library and Information Science MLIS 608 (Reference Services) class conducted their first webinar for 2021. The event was streamed online via Facebook Live on the CPU Henry Luce III Library Page.
This webinar for librarians had the theme “LIBdentity: Ways in Creating and Marketing the Identity of your Library.”
The speaker was Allana S. Delgado, RL, MLIS, Librarian for the Graduate School Library and in-charge of the BAHANDIAN Institutional Repository. She is also managing the online platforms and social media of the Library.
The webinar discussed creating and promoting library identity (Visual identity and branding, websites, social media, creating engaging content); the evolving identity of the Henry Luce III Library; and the case of BAHANDIAN Institutional Repository: launching, marketing, and creating LIBdentity.
The webinar was helpful for librarians to learn new ideas on promoting library services even with the physical limitations set by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Rowena Libo-on, Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, delivered the opening remarks for the participants. Vince Ervin V. Palcullo, Archives and Special Collections Librarian of the HLL, served as the moderator. Ana Mae B. Cantel, the professor for the MLIS 608 subject, delivered the closing message.
More than 800 librarians and library staff from libraries, schools, and organizations all over the Philippines had registered for the webinar. More than 1,300 people watched the webinar online.
As part of its services, the Henry Luce III Library is conducting webinars and online events on various topics. Last year, the Library also conducted webinars on Library Virtual Reference services, Copyright, and Systematic review of literature for researchers. Since events are limited due to the pandemic, the Library still continues to conduct educational seminars, lectures, and talks.
