The Law Library at Central Philippine University is committed to provide the materials and other reading aids, fill the legal information needs of the students and faculty of the College of Law. The Library materials must aid a faculty actively engaged in scholarly research and writing as well as aid its students in their training to become skilled competent legal practitioners and leaders of the bench and bar in consonance with the aim of the University which is to provide well-rounded education by developing students spiritually, intellectually and physically, to the end that they may become free and creative citizens in an open society.
The Law Library in order to carry on the above Statement of Purpose and General Objectives of the University hereby states its specific objectives as follows:
Library materials may be used by any students and faculty of the College of Law. Law Library borrowers card are required for the use of any library materials. Only the person named on the card is allowed to use that card. Each borrower is responsible for all materials borrowed/used on his or her name.
All materials are for REFERENCE USE AND PHOTOCOPY PURPOSES ONLY. Users are not allowed to bring the library books for overnight. A fine of P 5.00 per hour will be charged to users who violates the rules and regulations.
Any damage to or loss of library materials is the responsibility of the borrower who will be required to replace the materials or pay the full current cost of replacement/s.
Require the library users to leave their Library Card. (For outside researchers, a letter from the respective librarian or head of institution or office, or an office ID, or other credentials to identify the user). Researchers are referred to the Librarian’s Office, Henry Luce III Library. CPU faculty and staff members use the University Library Card. A member of the CPU Corporation and/or the Board of Trustees has a University issued Library Card.
Personal books, jackets folders or attache case, should be deposited in the Depository Area. (Please remind the library users of this). Folders and notebooks necessary to the clientele may be allowed in the Law Library but clientele should be requested to present these for inspection before leaving the area.
Non-law students are encouraged to use for study purposes the Henry Luce III Library and not the Law Library. (For Research purpose only).
All materials borrowed from the library (reference use & photocopy only) must be presented for inspection to the authorized library staff/library student assistant at the control desk.
Books need not to be shelved after use by the user. These should be placed on the table for the library assistants to check.
Smoking and eating inside the library are prohibited.
Refrain from making unnecessary/disturbing noise or loud conversation.
