CPU - AMERICAN STUDIES RESOURCE CENTER |

The CPU -
American Studies Resource Center ( CPU-ASRC) was formally opened and
inaugurated on February 11, 1985 by Mr. Herwald Morton, Director, USIS and
Counselor for Public Affairs, U.S. Embassy, Manila. It is designed to make
available to a wide range of people reference books, periodicals, tapes and
other materials for use in American Studies courses and in courses with
American content and to those interested in American Studies –American
culture, institutions, and society. It may also serve as the venue for
lecture for a and seminars in American Studies, and as a focal point at
which visitors may spend time in campus with students and faculty –
Fulbright and East West Center fellows and lecturers and other American and
Pilipino specialists in American Studies. . It started with a core
collection of 600 volumes of reference books on American Studies: 500
volumes donated by the Asia Foundation and another 100 volumes from the
United States Information Service. The total collection of the Center at
present is 2,710 titles and 2,994 volumes. The materials in the Center
include books, pamphlets, cassette tapes, CD-ROM, video tapes, diskettes,
maps, paper shows, school catalogs and vertical files. |
